The Coos County Republican Party: A Tale of Two Visions

We sought conservative wins in the district election…
Chairman Brainard dismissed it as just an “off year.”

We asked to establish a headquarters for our cause…
Chairman Brainard shot it down, saying we lack the funds.

We pushed for more events to grow our membership and gather donations…
Chairman Brainard argued we don’t have enough volunteers to make it work.

We sought to bring on more PCP volunteers to strengthen our ranks…
Chairman Brainard declared that option is off the table.

We asked to take a hard look at the bylaws and update them…
Chairman Brainard insisted we aren’t permitted to touch them.

We proposed opening meetings virtually to include more members…
Chairman Brainard said the technology and setup aren’t in place.

We aimed to welcome the public into our meetings…
Chairman Brainard maintained it’s a private, members-only affair.

We tried to add new items to the meeting agenda for discussion…
Chairman Brainard asserted his sole authority over the agenda.

We planned to hold meetings every month to keep momentum…
Chairman Brainard pointed out we’re only required to meet three times a year.

We decided to gather anyway and invited a guest speaker to inspire us…
Chairman Brainard intervened, calling the speaker to cancel their appearance.

We needed to sit down and figure out why we lost the last election…
Chairman Brainard brushed it off, claiming we actually won.

We wanted to push forward with new ideas and take action…
Chairman Brainard stood firm, reigning like a king over our efforts.

You can see the pattern clear as day…
The problem, they tell us, rests with us.

But Chairman Brainard’s grip tells a different story…
His “leadership” holds us all back.

"Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall." [Proverbs 16:18]
