A message for the "Liberals"
LIBERALS: Please start getting involved with your local Democratic Party organizations, and please start denouncing the extremists. Due to lack of involvement from your regular everyday average Liberals, the extremists on the far-far-left have been able to take over your local political organizations and control the narrative. They are making you ALL look like extremists.
For example, the people online laughing about Charlie Kirk’s death and taunting mourners are NOT liberals, they’re extremists. There is a huge difference.
I know this because I interact with the actual liberals in my community all the time, not just the ones who show up for an extremist rally like “No Kings". My liberal neighbors don’t think all conservatives are nazis like the liberal extremists continually proclaim. I may have different views about how to solve homelessness and crime than most of the liberals I speak with, but when it comes to "trans" issues, they are ashamed of the Democratic Party stance and agree that allowing men in women's locker rooms and sports is taking things too far. The vast majority of liberals I interact with locally might disagree with my views on immigration policies, but they see the indoctrination happening in our schools and the erosion of gun rights and they agree that it has gone too far. Think of all the "old school Liberals" and "Clinton Democrats" ... they're not extremists.
From google: "Old school liberal views, also known as classical liberalism, emphasize individual liberty, limited government, and free-market economics, prioritizing civil liberties, free speech, and protection of property." Doesn't sound extreme to me!
Now Conservatives: Ignore the extremists, don’t give them your time and energy. Instead, start seeking out and encouraging your liberal neighbors to get involved politically. That might sound counterintuitive if you’re a conservative, but I believe it is actually our only chance at lowering the political temperature and bringing unity and respect to a divided nation.
So again I appeal to the average liberal who has been sitting in the backseat watching the extremists drive the bus, and I urge you to start speaking up and getting involved. If both the Democrats and Republicans were able to weed out the extremists and bring the focus back to local issues that actually matter (like crime and the economy) I am confident that we would find out we are not as far apart in our beliefs and vision for the community as we think.
I'm working on the Republican party with everything I've got to bring the focus back to fundamental local issues (yes we have extremists on the right and we need to get our shit together too). But it's up to you liberals to step up and get involved with the Democrats to do the same. They need your help now more than ever.
This is our turning point.
